Volunteer Agreement

I represent to the City of Orem ("City") that I am fully authorized to sign for and bind the undersigned volunteer ("Volunteer") regarding participation in the Adopt a Spot program. On behalf of the Volunteer, I agree to comply with all rules prescribed by the City as deemed necessary for the efficient and safe conduct of the Adopt a Spot program and related activities. I agree to conduct myself in a proper, appropriate manner during the Adopt a Spot program and related activities and to not engage in any activity that is dangerous or likely to cause harm, injury or damage to the person or property of others.

RIGHT OF TERMINATION: I understand that the City reserves the right to restrict or reject my particpation without liability to the City. The City may exercise this right at any point in time, before or during the Adopt a Spot season, for any reason considered by the City to be inconsistent with the goals, values, and objectives of the Adopt a Spot program.

INDEMNIFICATION: As a condition of being a participant in the Adopt a Spot program, I agree to assume full responsibility for my conduct and to indemnify and hold the City of Orem and its officers, officials, employees, representatives, volunteers and agents; and all others having any responsibility therefore, harmless from any liability, claim, loss or expense (including attorney's fees) caused by or arising from (a) any conduct or negligence by me (b) any act of any Adopt a Spot participant or spectator (c) any infringement or violation by me of the rights of others.

I understand that the City reserves the right to screen volunteer applicants and will place applicants in specific locations and positions based on the needs of the City. I understand that I will not be paid for my services as a volunteer, and I am giving my time freely to the Adopt a Spot program.

I understand that submitting this volunteer application does not automatically guarantee my participation in the Adopt a Spot program, and that I will be notified in writing of such acceptance.
